Move in ready.
[Jos 24:13 ESV] 13 I gave you a land on which you had not labored and cities that you had not built, and you dwell in them. You eat the fruit of vineyards and olive orchards that you did not plant.’
The work of abundance is simply the work of taking possession, moving in. I have moved so many times over the course of my life it’s not even funny. I’d rather take a swift kick in the tale than move. Why? because moving is work! Can you imagine someone giving you a house that was move in ready? I’m not talking about pack up all your junk and bring it with you move in. I’m talking move into this 5 bedroom 4 bath house with attached shop, pool, garden and a hundred acres of land, cows horses and a few goats. Oh and by the way, the shop is loaded with tools, a zero turn mower and trimmer with a fully restored muscle car. The closets had cloths all tailored for just your size. The pantry has food and the necessary cooking equipment. Bedrooms had beds and dresser draws will full of cloths, shampoo and conditioner in the bathrooms, I’m talking fully furnished. Move in…don’t bring anything but yourself. WOW! I can hear folk now, David you are truly a nut! That’s right but I’m screwed to the right bolt! I’m talking about a place Jesus has gone to prepare for us. (Jn. 14:1-3) however; back here on earth when it comes to moving there is something about it that motivates you. The excitement that comes with a new place, a different house or city, the change in experiences can be somewhat satisfying. I can only imagine how Israel must have felt taking possession of this abundance of which they did not labor for, they didn’t fight for, (the Lord drove them out, He fought for them) they didn’t work for, nor plant or sow. They just moved in. What a picture of the abundance of Grace! I’m ready for the rapture of the Church where we will do nothing but move in, don’t bring anything with you. Not even your old broke down body, got a new one waiting and I promise it’s going to be your size. The Work has been done. The Work is finished, the abundant life is ready for you so just move in.
